Is it "safe" to buy a roundtrip ticket and only use it one way? I've heard the airlines are "criacking down" on people who do this but have never heard of anyone being penalized.

I've been watching fares from STL to DEN for an April visit. Last month, there were several nonstop options on AA. Today there are none. I'm guessing those nonstop routes have been discontinued, but can't find any information. Any suggestions on how to check that kind of news from airlines? (Or, more specifically, to find out about my specific need?) Did find, via Google but not with an AA site search, a relatively recent "news" story on AA about added nonstops, but nothing about what might have been taken away.

A great site, but no use to me in Australia.
I had completed a reservation when I came to enter my address and found Australia is not listed as one of the countries.
Most disappointing. It looks like you can only use this site if you live overseas in America or Europe.

I had been watching the flight prices for MSP - FLL roundtrip for 12/26/08 to 1/4/09 and they were high according to farecompare so I kept watching. Then yesterday the flight price more than doubled and there aren't any coach seats available. Since this flight is more than 10 months away and only recently became available to book - How can all the coach seats suddenly be booked? Do travel agents buy all the seats speculating that they will sell them in a package deal? Is there anyway to find out who bought them all?

Hey Rick,Family of ~10 adults/1 child going to Vegas for Thanksgiving (Tues-Sat). #1-any ideas on where to go for a great T-giving dinner? #2-websites to check for the "best"/most organized way to check out the Grand Canyon? #3- your thoughts/insights about staying in MGM owned apartment-style hotel? Family members are traveling from DC, Chicago, Atlanta.
Thanks, Cathy

Hi Rick,
I have never travelled to Europe. I am planning a trip from Mumbai, India, to Varna, Bulgaria. Could you advise me on how to fly to the destination and include a different stopover of one day while travelling to and fro? Please advise me on the cheapest way to do so since I am a budget traveller. Also the fact that I might not be going to Europe again. Thanks.

Rick,

I love your site - I find it more useful in making travel decisions than anything else I have seen. Keep up the great work.

I am planning a trip with my wife in June and currently looking for the best airfare deal. We will be flying from one of the airports in the New York City area, and flying to Austin TX. We want to spend a week or more, but definitely need to be in town for an event on Saturday June 7. The trip would preferably extend through the following weekend, but we can be flexible.

According to FareCompare, the prices haven't been changing much, and are currently only two-star rated, with the lowest available shown as $325 round trip. Southwest is advertising a sale until Thursday, and it looks like I could get two round-trip tickets from Long Island to Austin for just over $500 total. Should I snatch this up, or would you advise waiting another month or so?

Thanks for your time and help,
Zach
